The story behind the image:
Photo captured at Mary River Station 1989 of Melanie Rhodes (Bree Creevey's Mums) bringing in a whopping buffalo bull to be trucked out for slaughter.
In the early to late 80s, the Mary River was the place to bull catch, being part floodplain and part scrub it was relentless swamp, rivers and floodplain teaming with wild buffalo and wild cattle with treacherous wallowed country to chase over in vehicles known as bull catchers. These were usually a Toyota, roof and doors removed, some bars on the side and bull bar up front, the engine given an upgrade to something with more grunt and in the later years, a bionic arm introduced.
Thankyou to the families who provided us with this image of their loved ones, some with us and some no longer with us, it's been a pleasure to create a series of caps that we can share with everyone, of our legends that came before us and paved the way in the last frontier of the North.
