The story behind the image:
Photo captured at Auvergne Station in the Kimberley's in the late 70s of Robert Townsend, Freddy Pocock and Mandy Fogarty (on the front leg) tail throwing a scrubber on the run. Before bionic arms, and bull catches a lot of scrubbers were run down on horseback or vehicles and tail thrown (as a lot are today from bikes etc)
Mandy and her family the Fogarty's were at Auvergne Station from the 60s to the 80s. Mandy and Robert were married at Auvergne around this time with Jess their eldest child being born not long after. The Fogarty's came from western QLD from the Mitchell area, Lloyd and his sons were working for AACO at Caldervale and were asked to run Auvergne in the top end and he moved his family north. Fast forward to this photo, Auvergne was wild and the Kimberley's even wilder, with rocky ranges and massive rivers the scrubbers were a whole different game and a whole different landscape to that of the floodplain.
