The story behind the image:

Photo captured at Labelle Station in 1950ish loading up the old cattle truck and a makeshift panel set up to get a few more in! Photos provided by Jess Townsends family archives of her Uncle Roy, Uncle Bob and Grandfather Ray Townsend.

The Townsends migrated to the NT in 1962 from Florida USA, with Great Grandaddy of them all Asa Townsend catching a taxi all over QLD looking for the perfect land to buy, to set up for his family. They settled-on Stapleton Station, which at that time was on the Finnis River country and later became Labelle, Kiri, Well Tree, Wangi, Shilo and Hazard. Alot of the photos provided will come from these archives as an ode to her heritage, and as a thank you to those who pioneered before us. Jess will be sending quite a few caps out for belated Christmas gifts this year to her family that's for sure!

Thankyou to the families who provided us with this image of their loved ones, some with us and some no longer with us, it's been a pleasure to create a series of caps that we can share with everyone, of our legends that came before us and paved the way in the last frontier of the North.
