Jack Larsen needs no introduction. A chief pilot for Jonesy for many years, he styled the cut-off check shirt, Wranglers, and aviators long before it was cool.

This shot captures him running down a cheeky bull in a 1990-model R22—classic Jack, working the sky like it was second nature. Didn’t have enough room under the brim to fit them both, but you get the idea!

Jack is my dad’s (Robert Townsend’s) best mate, and growing up, we were always in a chopper with him—whether over Tipperary, Marrakai, or wherever Dad was working. My first flight? At 2 years old, with Jack at the controls. The funniest bloke you’ll ever meet, and an absolute Territory icon.
